Software documentation
Documentation that keeps pace with your code and is understood by developers and their AI assistants
Software documentation goes out of date faster than anything else you release with your product. We write it in English and Czech, so that it is versioned alongside the code, goes through the same review and keeps up with every merge and API change. That way it stays accurate and usable for people and for the tools that read it today.
What we do for you
Documentation in the same workflow as your code
Docs-as-code as the default way of working
We write documentation in Markdown and manage it just like your source code: in Git, via pull requests, deployed through CI/CD. Developers propose documentation changes in the same workflow they use for code, without switching to a separate tool. That way the documentation is updated together with the product.
API and OpenAPI reference
We create API reference documentation, including reference generated from the OpenAPI specification and kept in sync with it. We describe endpoints, parameters, authentication and error states, with examples developers can copy and use straight away. The reference stays synchronized with the specification, so the documentation never drifts from how the API evolves between versions.
Guides for users and developers
Besides reference material, we write what actually guides users: onboarding, step-by-step instructions, tutorials and conceptual explanations of how the product fits into the bigger picture. The reference says what an endpoint does. The guide says why and when to use it, so integrations succeed the first time and support tickets don’t pile up.
Ready for AI assistants too
Documentation is now also read by the AI assistants developers consult while they work. We structure content so these tools read and interpret it correctly, and on request we prepare formats such as llms.txt. Your documentation serves both audiences without you having to write everything twice.
We understand code and human language
Our team includes people with a technical background who read code, know their way around APIs and can tell when something in the source material doesn’t add up. We run every example in the documentation before publishing it. We work in the same tools as your team and changes go through review via pull requests, so you keep documentation under control just like code. Over 33 years we have documented products across many fields, so we get up to speed with your stack and terminology quickly.
Localization
Documentation and applications in the languages of your markets
We write documentation in English and Czech. Other languages are handled by our TechWord Lingua division, which connects localization to your development process – from app strings and error messages to help content and marketing copy. Terms stay consistent across documentation, UI and communication, and only what has changed is translated for the next version.
How we work together
- Consultation on the product, repository and publishing pipeline
- Documentation structure proposal (reference, guides, concepts) and quote
- Writing via pull requests, reviewed together with your team
- Deployment via CI/CD and maintenance set up for API changes
What you get
- Documentation in Markdown, right in your repository
- API reference generated from the OpenAPI specification
- Guides and tutorials for onboarding users and developers
